Forming St. John Ambulans Malaysia

Hey guys... It's been way long since I've posted a blog. well anywayz, here's the latest scoop...

Just came back from prostar camp. Now fasilitator negeri certified :) so i can speak during HIV/AIDS awareness sessions.

But more importantly I want you all to know is that i'm trying to form a St. John Ambulans Malaysia (SJAM) division in our school, SMK Seksyen4 BK. I've got word that SJAM is actively trying to find schools in Puchong to form divisions as until now, there is NO SJAM division in Puchong except for SMK Puchong Jaya (B), which will take place next year.

If any of you are interested (which I hope u all are), please email, SMS, or Messenger me ASAP. There are many benefits to joining the SJAM. The main activity will be ambulance duty and public duty (standby at events). You would

· Get chances to work at major events, such as concerts, sporting events and even prestigious competitions as well.

· Get to attend first aid courses and get certificates that are recognized worldwide.

· Most students who joined SJAM would end up interested in medical careers. Joining SJAM would give you on the field experience to make it easier to step into the world of doctors, nurses and paramedics as well.

Many of you are familiar with our school's existing Malaysian Red Crescent Society, and I can frankly tell you the SJAM can offer many more things that might be out of reach in MRCS. They include:

· Easy to reach guidance and support from officers in charge. SJAM has been known to be supportive to its divisions and provide information as well as offer courses consistently.

· SJAM has more contacts with suppliers and organizers and as such can pull strings easily to get public duty offers. This also makes it easier for you to get experience if you participate actively.

· You would get a chance to cooperate with other major agencies such as MAHAMAS and even St. John Ambulance societies from other countries! This provides not only a valuable experience but also looks good on your rap sheet when you graduate from school.

For those who left school already, u still can enjoy all these as there's a different unit (Ambulance Cadet) that’s open for those 16 - 65.

So I hope that you guys would support me and spread the word to all SMK BK4 people!!

Thx.

Yours Truly,

Yeong Chen Shin
